Orison is in general a battery-chemistry agnostic company, as our core technology is focused on power conversion and network communications. However, we have selected Cylindrical Lithium-Ion (18650-size) cells for our initial production battery pack. Due to its popularity and availability, production risk is mitigated by having options for multiple suppliers. Orison is always looking to improve with newer, more energy dense, longer cycle life, and lower cost battery chemistries as they become available. We are also exploring LFP, prismatic cells, and other advanced and/or lower cost technologies for next generation products.
