Orison Energy Storage Wins GOOD DESIGN™ 2016 Award

Orison is pleased to announce that our energy storage products are a recipient of the 2016 Good Design Award.

Orison energy storage was invented by our founder and CEO Eric Clifton, and designed with DDSTUDIO, a premier design firm founded in 1984 by Charles Curbbun.  We teamed up with DDSTUDIO to apply design-thinking principles to our plug-and-play energy storage system for the home or office. The objective was to deliver a battery solution that is highly efficient and aesthetically pleasing—one that could be displayed in your living room.

The collaboration resulted in two distinctive products—a wall mounted panel and a multipurpose floor tower. We now have a user-centric product experience that enhances quality of life and contributes to green living and sustainability in a beautiful way.

The Good Design Awards, trademarked in 1950, are hosted annually by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design, along with the European Center for Architecture, Art, Design, and Urban Studies as the foremost program that honor and recognizes the best design talent and the best manufacturing worldwide.” Award-winners are innovative individuals and companies who deliver outstanding, creative product designs to consumers.

In this, the award’s 66th year, the judges chose Orison energy storage out of the thousands of design submissions from well-known companies from countries around the world, to be one of the products to receive this prestigious award.

The Orison Panel and Orison Tower will be featured along with all other award winners in the GOOD DESIGN Yearbook 2016-2017, as well as in the Museum’s Permanent Design Collection.

All award winners will be honored during the Awards Ceremony and Gala Reception/Dinner, “Good Design Night,” in New York City this January 2017.
